What does it mean to be a BIDN Ally?
A BIDN Ally is a member of the interior design community who is committed to recognizing, uplifting, and celebrating the Black talent within the world of design. These individuals and companies are willing to go the extra step to show support by making regular contributions to the Black Interior Designers Network, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Those contributions assist in closing the inequality gap by extending the benefits of your privilege to those who have historically lacked.
Your membership supports the organization’s operations and initiatives, which include, but are not limited to: developing diversity training programs and leading thought leadership discussions, holding annual member conferences, and creating dedicated BIDN industry programs that raise the profile of our Black design community.
Ultimately, your commitment will help create true equality in design.
BIDN Designer Ally
A BIDN Designer Ally is an individual interior design firm that is committed to equality within the industry. These firms want to engage in important, and sometimes uncomfortable, conversations that need to be had in order to learn about actionable ways to close the equity gap with Black designers. BIDN Allies are essential cogs in the wheels of our network, and are committed to staying informed and taking action in moving our industry to a more equitable and representative future.
BIDN Corporate Ally
A BIDN Corporate Ally is a home decor brand, lifestyle brand, and/or product development brand that wants to engage and support the Black interior design community. These allied manufacturers are committed to bringing more diverse colleagues, designers, influencers, and collaborators to the table to work with them in meaningful ways. A BIDN Corporate Ally is actively utilizing the insights of Black buying power and Black designers to build upon their brand and product offerings.
